Check-in Time is Anytime from 3 pm to 10 pm and Check-out is Anytime from 7 am to 11 am
The bedrooms are spacious, bright and airy with striking views. The rooms have extremely comfortable beds – either single or queen-sized, all made up with fresh linen. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, colour television, hairdryer, clock-radio, bedside lamps, wardrobe and drawer storage, chairs, mirrors and clean towels which are replaced daily. The property is centrally heated and bedrooms have thermostatic radiators so that they may be adjusted to suit individual requirements.
This ground floor room can be a twin or double and has an ensuite with spacious shower.
It has a stunning view of the paddock and garden and benefits from wonderful evening sunlight.
This first floor room is a spacious double bedroom with ensuite bathroom.
The room has fantastic views across Highwood – known locally as Bluebell Wood.
This room has a southerly view of the garden with fields and woodland beyond. It is light and spacious and offers the standard super king bed and a settee.
The private bathroom is a few steps from the bedroom and offers a bath and shower. It has a lock which uses the same key as the Chinnock bedroom. Two dressing robes are provided in the room to aid your modesty.
Visitors have access to a living room/lounge which has a library of books and games, digital television, free wi-fi, local visitor literature and a traditional log burning stove which creates a wonderfully ‘toasty’ feel during the cold winter months!

A farmhouse style breakfast is provided in the dining area. The dining area looks out over the garden and has a fridge for visitors to store their own food.
All food is cooked fresh, using local produce where possible, and eggs are courtesy of Eileen's own chickens! Please make us aware of any special dietary requirements before you visit. A full range of vegetarian options is also available.
There is ample and secure parking available for visitors in the grounds at the front of the property and no passing traffic means a good night's sleep is assured.
There is so much to do at Bagnell Country Cottage. Whether it's relaxing in the cosy living area with a good book, taking a wander around the beautiful gardens or sitting beside the pond or on the patio.
Whatever time of year you visit there is a wide variety of flora and fauna on our front door. There is plentiful bird activity down by the pond, an active badger set within the grounds and the surrounding fields are full of Red Devon show cattle.
Whether you fancy a gentle amble or an energetic hike there are three footpaths to choose from which lead from the Cottage to Ham Hill Country Park, historic Montacute House and the Chinnocks.
The World Heritage Jurassic Coast is just 45 minutes away and includes the charming shoreline of Lyme Regis and Weymouth. Also within easy travelling distance are Minehead, Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-Super-Mare.
Golf, horse riding and fishing facilities are all within a short distance of the property. Hot air balloon trips are also available locally. More energetic visitors may like to indulge in some cycling across the more challenging terrain of the Quantocks or Mendips.
Sample local produce at one of the many excellent pubs and restaurants in the area. You can also try some Somerset smoked eel at the famous Brown and Forrest Smokery, some Somerset Cider Brandy at Burrow Hill Cider Farm or some home-grown produce at one of the local Farmer's Markets or farm shops.
There are many famous and beautiful gardens to visit together with National Trust and English Heritage properties. The area is rich in arts and crafts including pottery, willow work and stone sculpture and in September many local artists open their studios to the public as part of Somerset Art Works.
Whether it be relaxing in the cosy living area with a good book, taking a wander around the gardens, sitting beside the pond or on the patio or taking a stroll to the local pub for a pint of Somerset cider and a home cooked lunch. Bagnell Country Cottage is a wonderfully tranquil environment.
